MY INSPIRATION
When I sit down and write a poem, I usually put myself in a state of "write what you want to hear" because I know that other people need what I need in that moment too. It could be words of encouragement, what I am struggling with and sometimes a kick in the butt.
Other times I want to write about a memory and then I ask myself questions like "What was I doing?" "How was I feeling?" and
"How was I different afterwards aka How did it evolve me?"
It is a beautiful way to both relive and process the moment.
I always come back to painting flowers, and they are usually my favourite flowers that connects me to a place or memory that I love.
For example, flower crowns is a reccuring motive and that connects me to my favourite Swedish tradition which is midsummer. A magical time in Sweden for sure.
I am also drawn to painting women. Women in nature or women as forces of nature which connects me to something else I love which is mythology.
I like greek mythology, the nymphs specifically, and how they are all female and are one with nature.
So my paitings always have an element of mythology, memory and magic.
